Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 25, 2026. Effective upon publication on this website.
This policy explains how MOWONJAE handles personal information for reservations and head spa services.
1. Information we use and why
- Reservations and enquiries: your name, contact details, appointment date and time, selected service, and reservation, change, cancellation and enquiry details. We use this information to arrange appointments, communicate with you and provide services.
- Paper consultation cards: your name, phone number, visit date, therapist, purpose of visit, scalp type and concerns, recent hair or scalp treatments, shampoo habits, safety information and signature. We use these records for consultation, planning appropriate care and follow-up visits.
- Transactions: payment amounts, payment or cancellation status and transaction references available to us, for payment confirmation, refunds and handling enquiries or disputes.
We receive information through customer messages, booking platforms and paper consultation cards. We do not take or retain scalp photographs.
2. Health information
The consultation card includes health-related information, such as pregnancy or breastfeeding, allergies or skin conditions, scalp wounds or inflammation, use of blood-thinning medication and a history of keloids. Health-related scalp concerns are also handled as sensitive information.
Collecting and using this information on the basis of consent requires separate consent from ordinary personal information. This policy does not replace that consent. You may decline to provide health information; this may limit our ability to assess whether particular care is suitable for you.
3. How long we keep information
General reservation and customer records: one year from your last visit.
Paper consultation cards: one year from the date each card is completed.
We delete information sooner when it is no longer needed for its purpose, unless retention is required by law. Enquiries or cancelled reservations that do not lead to a visit are deleted without delay once their purpose has been fulfilled, subject to legal retention requirements.
Where the Korean Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce and its Enforcement Decree apply, contract and cancellation records and payment and service-supply records are kept for five years, and consumer complaint or dispute records for three years. Only the information required for statutory retention is kept separately for that purpose.
4. Booking services and service providers
- Thinkofyou (팅커뷰), operated by Hatchling (해츨링): storage and management of reservation and customer records.
- Naver Booking and Fresha: customers may book directly through these platforms. MOWONJAE uses the reservation information made available to us to fulfil and manage those bookings. When we only block a time slot for a booking received elsewhere, we do not enter the customer's identifying information.
Each platform also processes information under its own terms and privacy policy. For Fresha bookings, please see its Privacy Policy and Data Protection Addendum; for Naver bookings, see Naver's Privacy Policy.
We handle disclosures to third parties and outsourced processing only within the scope permitted by applicable law. Platform use for booking is distinct from sharing customer information solely to block an occupied time slot.
5. Access, security and disposal
Customer information is handled by our representative and staff who need it for their work. We limit access to the information necessary for their duties and manage accounts and paper records to prevent unauthorised access.
When disposal is due, paper cards are shredded or otherwise securely destroyed. Electronic records under our control are deleted using the relevant service's deletion function or through a deletion request to the provider. Records retained by a platform for its own legal purposes are subject to that platform's policy.
6. Your choices and requests
You or your authorised representative may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or withdrawal of consent. We will verify the request and respond in accordance with applicable law. Some records may need to be retained where a legal obligation applies.
7. Website and external services
This website links to booking and messaging services and displays an embedded Google map. These providers may process connection information or use cookies under their own policies. See Google's Privacy Policy for the map. You can manage or block cookies in your browser settings; some external features may then be limited.
